It’s that time of year again! When the days stretch longer, the nights are warmer, and WRAwesome denizens start thinking about partying on a train. That’s right — it’s the Steel Rails Sessions, 2014 edition.
Kwartzlab was invited to participate this year, hosting a mad science bar at the railyard.
We installed some black lights at the Waterloo Central Railway
and mixed up a variety of glowy concoctions.
Upcoming Artist in Residence, and balloon artist extraordinaire, Drew Ripley joined us, with his electrifying Tesla installation (sadly, I wasn’t able to get a better photo)
while Critical Media Lab friends set up a Digital Tabernacle outside.
With the railyard ready for the party, we waited for the train
and guests to arrive.
Some of us had time for a quick peak on the train
while our dapper bartenders
quenched party-goers’ thirsts.
Brandon Valdivia provided musical stylings
while The Bread Baron churned out tasty treats
A HUGE shout-out to Steel Rails organizers Wilfrid Laurier University Student Publications; we had a blast!
Until next year, Steel Rails!
