Friend-of-the-Lab and former Artist in Residence, Meg Leslie, is hosting another Flirting with the Arts in Kitchener in a few weeks. A tonne of Kwartzlab people are involved and it’s a great way to try out a variety of different skills and techniques.
On November 1st, downtown Kitchener will bare witness to a creative spectacle of passion at the Flirting with the Arts.
Flirting with the Arts is an arts workshop marathon featuring 30 arts facilitators and workshops. Started by Meg Leslie in February of 2014, the first ‘Flirt’ was met with rave reviews and demands of “Please do that again!” The aim is to truly engage adults in the creative process, encourage them to try new things, to explore and to play!
Participants are invited to choose six half-hour taste-testing-type workshops for an amazing day of personal discovery. Your ticket price also includes lunch. Each workshop is designed as ‘make and take’ – participants end the day with works of art, new skills, shared experiences and inspiring memories.
Local Kitchener artists such as [former Kwartzlab featured artist] James Nye (facilitating an Art/Car), Janice Lee (spoken word poetry) and many members of the Kwartzlab such as Bernie Rohde (electronic arts) and Agnes Niewiadomski (fibre arts) will be bringing their talents and passion to the Flirting with the Arts experience. We also are trying something new with a Seattle-based artist Skyping in to do an incredibly inspired painting workshop!
